1 killed, another hurt in stabbing incidents

A 54-YEAR-OLD man was killed while another was injured in separate stabbing incidents in Davao City.

The first incident happened at sitio Polocon in Brgy. Lamanan in Calinan on Oct. 30 at around 6 p.m. wherein the victim was identified as Rimjun Trya Mediquillo, 19, of sitio Malipayan in Malabog, Paquibato District.

The suspect was identified as Norbelito Roble, 21, a farmer, of sitio Tabuan also in Malabog.

Calinan police said the victim and his girlfriend Rachel were walking on their way to the house of his cousin when the suspect blocked their way and stabbed the victim.

Police said the motive of

the crime is due to love triangle. The victim sustained a stab wound on his lower right chest and was brought to Robillo Hospital for treatment. He was later moved to the Southern Philippine­s Medical Center (SPMC).

Personnel of the Calinan police station are now looking for the suspect who fled towards unknown direction after the incident.

The second incident happened along Sulpicio Road on Km 10 in Sasa at around 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The victim was identified as Godofredo Torbeso Barlomento, 54, of Tibungco.

The suspect was identified as Christophe­r Sal, alias Joncats, 37, of Doña Salud in Sasa.

Sasa police said the victim went into a videokebar beside the billiard hall in Sasa, where the suspect with his friends, Edgar Mangaron and Calixto Montayre were having a drinking session.

The victim, out of a trip, spanks the suspect on his nape while sleeping on the table. The suspect who was in a rage elbowed the victim, but the latter took an empty urn and struck the suspect.

Thus, the suspect pulled out a hunting knife and stabbed the victim. The suspect then left the bar and fled to an unknown direction. The victim also left with the knife rooted in his body.

Police believed that the victim died upon reaching the waiting shed along Sulpicio Road where he was found by a concerned citizen named Ruben Fuentes. ICT
