Man faces raps for murder try

Charges were filed before the City Prosecutor’s Office against a man who tried to kill another in a stabbing incident at Sitio Polocon, Brgy. Lamanan, Calinan District, Davao City last October 30.

Facing charges of frustrated murder through summary inquest is Norbelito Roble, a 21-year-old farmer and a resident of Sitio Tabuan, Brgy. Malabog, Paquibato District. Roble was charged after trying to kill Rimjun Traya Mediquillo, 19 and a resident of Sitio Maglipayan, Brgy. Malabog.

Investigat­ion conducted by Calinan police revealed that Mediquillo sustained a stab wound on his lower right chest as he was attacked by Roble. Mediquillo was rushed to the Robillo Memorial Hospital and was later transferre­d to the Southern Philippine­s Medical Center while the suspect fled to an unknown direction.

The suspect, however, voluntaril­y surrendere­d to Brgy. Megkawayan kagawad Joseph Paraguso Moranta at around 12 a.m. of November 1. Moranta then turned Roble over to the Calinan police station.

Roble told police that the reason why he stabbed Mediquillo was because he was jealous of the latter who is currently dating the respondent’s former live-in partner only identified as alias Kathryn (identity withheld for being a minor).

The respondent is currently detained at the Calinan police station.
