Water service interruption in some Mamay Road areas

- (Jamae R. Garcia)

AN eight-hour water service interruption on November 9 from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM has been scheduled by the Davao City Water District in some areas along Mamay Road.

Affected areas are Lea Subd., Paglas Compound and right portion of Mamay Road specifically from Lea Subd. to C.P. Garcia Highway. This water cut is needed to allow the crew of DCWD’s Engineering and Construction Department to tap the newly installed 100mm diameter Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) pipeline to the existing 150mm diameter PVC pipeline for the mainline extension at Pampanga Urban Neighborhood Association, Upper Mamay in Brgy. Angliongto. Once this P630,500 project is completed, more or less 168 new service connections can be accommodated.

In behalf of the management, DCWD acting general manager Edwin V. Regalado is asking for the understanding and cooperation of would-be affected customers. He likewise advises them to store enough water prior to the scheduled water interruption as water supply may be restored earlier if work goes smoothly or later if unforeseen prob- lems arise.

The general public may visit DCWD website (www.davao-water.gov.ph), official Facebook account (www.facebook.com/davaocitywaterdistrict) or call the DCWD trunk line at 221-9400 and press “1” on their phone dial to listen to latest daily water updates or call directly its Central Information Unit / Call Center through the 24-hour hotline 221-9412 or call/text 0927-7988966, 0925-5113293 and 09084410653 for other updates, complaints, queries and other matters pertaining to DCWD services.
