CELEBRITY couple Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid is not planning to have another baby soon, as the Asia’s Songbird is still coping with the death of her father, Mang Gerry, who died in his sleep early this month. In an interview with the singer/actor at the h press launch of his newest Kapatid comedy show “Confessions of A Torpe,” Ogie said Regine had a difficult pregnanc y with son Nate, so they are not keen to have another child soon.

“Kami naman kung dumating, okay, kung hindi naman, ayos na din. Si Regine is already 44 years old and I’m 46. So medyo (our concern is) for her condition. She had a difficult time with Nate. A lot of things to consider,” he said.

Ogie said that after their destination wedding in December 2010, Nate came as a happy surprise.

“We really didn’t plan anything in our lives. We just go by what God gives us. Si Nate, we didn’t expect that we’ll have a baby. If you’re asking if we plan these things, hindi naman. We have the desire but kung hindi ibigay, okay na din,” he said.

Meanwhile, the singer/songwriter said they are still mourning the death of his father-in-law, as he shared that he admires Regine’s strength in dealing with her father’s loss.

“Hindi ka naman makaka-recover ng ganun ganun lang. There are times na pag kami lang, naaalala niya yung father niya but the nice thing with my wife, lagi niyang sinasabi na God prepared us for this,” he said.

“She’s at peace because she knows her father is with God. We have to mourn, we have to grieve for the people that we love who passed away. She’s still mourning and it’s not an easy time,” he added.

Ogie said that Nate is Regine’s source of happiness now.

“Si Nate yung nakakapawi ng lungkot niya. Pag nakikita niya si Nate, nakikita niya yung Papa niya. Nakakaaliw na bata. He’s very charming, very smart and tawa lang kami ng tawa sa bahay. Nakakadulot talaga siya ng kasiyahan sa amin,” the singer/songwriter said.
