SOME 500 Dabawenyos participated last Sunday at the Alaska World Milk Day celebration at Rizal Park, Davao City.

The Alaska World Milk Day celebration was a simultaneous milk-drinking activity in Baguio, Cebu, Davao and Metro Manila spearheaded by Alaska Milk Corporation. The Alaska Gatas for Breakfast campaign was also launched.

“We brought the celebration here because we want to heighten the awareness in drinking milk that it is not only for kids but for adults as well,” said Fen Marquez, Alaska Milk Corp. repre- sentative.

She said they want everyone to know that even though they are already adults, they can still benefit from the nutrients coming from milk.

Marquez said they are promoting milk to be an important part of one’s breakfast.

“Breakfast is considered as the most important meal of the day and it can be made healthier and complete with milk,” she said.

Aside from the simultaneous milk-drinking activity, there were also Zumba classes as part of their promotion of a healthy lifestyle.

They also served breakfast, which consisted of Alaska powdered milk paired with champorado drizzled with Alaska Evaporated Milk, pandesal filled with Alaska Condensed milk, and cereals with Alaska Fresh Milk, as part of their Alaska Gatas for Breakfast campaign.

Marquez said this was the first time they brought the event outside of Manila.

The Alaska World Milk Day celebration in Baguio, Cebu, and Davao held the same activities. In Metro Manila, they had charity run that will benefit Children’s Hour at the Bonifacio Global City.
