Medical-dental outreach program serves 34T in H1
AMAS, Kidapawan City -- The provincial government of Cotabato, through its medical and dental outreach health program, had provided free medical and dental services to 33,822 individuals in 61 barangays during the first half of 2014.
In her report, Dr. Eva C. Rabaya, officer-in-charge of the Integrated Provincial Health Officer (IPHO) disclosed that for the first quarter, there were 13,449 individuals (11,365 for medical check-up, 1,683 for dental and 401 for circumcision) from 24 barangays availed of the services, and for the second quarter (cut-off period is June 3) there were 20,373 individuals (14,677 for medical check-up, 3,455 for dental and 2,241 for circumcision) from 37 barangays.
The IPHO also recorded a total of 61 villages visited for the two quarters, according to Dr. Rabaya.
From January to March, “Serbisyong Totoo” health team composed of the IPHO and the Philippines Army visited 24 barangays. The tean also visited 37 more barangays from April 1 to June 3.
The IPHO sent its doctors, dentists and volunteer nurses and health workers in performing the medical and dental outreach programs.
The 40th IB, 57th IB of the 602nd Brigade of the Philippine Army and the 7th Field Artillery Brigade are active partners of IPHO in all of its outreach programs.
