A job well done

DAVAO City Police Chief Vicente Danao Jr. was awarded by Mayor Rody Duterte for solving the killing of businessman Ramon “TY” Garcia within seven hours, resulting to the arrest of suspects Daisy Cachapero and John Liawan and the recovery of the victim’s dead body on June 6.

Danao said the quick reaction of people to report the incident to him was a great factor in the arrest of the suspects since they have not gone far yet. The CCTV mounted on streets by the Public Safety Command Center likewise is a great help in tracking where they headed when they left Davao City with the victim, Danao added.

He said, “Davao is a dangerous place for criminals. We will definitely meet in due time if you persist despite our warnings.”

He thanked Mayor Duterte who boosted the morale of policemen, “knowing he will not desert us when we face problems in perfoming our task.”

“This is my first commendation from Mayor Duterte after I assumed office as City Police Director but the third commendation I received from the Mayor in appreciation of my effort in solving crimes in Davao City,” Danao said.

Danao recalled having received commendations from the mayor for having solved the massacre in New Lanzona Village in Matina and the arrest of the members of the Balbacua Gang involved in the killing of a foreigner when he was still the Police Chief of Talomo Police Station.

Newly-installed Talomo Police Chief PCI Alfredo Santillana with SPO1 Rizalde Suaga, PO1 Peterson Amaguen and PO1 Bhobit Jerome Tumuran were also commended and awarded for the job well done.
