Hours-long water service interruption

-

THERE will be three sets of water service interruptions affecting some city parts starting today.

First set is set today, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. affecting the entire Bago Oshiro and Bago Oshiro Road (from the junction of Sitio Basak Road to Bago Oshiro).

This seven-hour water interruption is needed for the tapping of the newly installed 100mm diameter Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) pipeline to the existing 100mm diameter PVC pipeline for the mainline improvement at Our Lady of Lourdes Avenue in Bago Oshiro.

Second set is an eighthour water cut from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on July 10.

Affected areas include Biao Tienda, Centennial Village 1 and 2, Brgy. Ula, Small Tacunan, Martyrville Subd. 1 and 2 and IKP Village. DCWD’s Engineering and Construction Department (ECD) crew will tap the newly installed 100mm diameter PVC pipeline to the existing 150mm diameter PVC pipeline for the mainline improvement at IKP Village Homeowners Association in Tugbok.

The projects involved in the first and second sets of water cuts are needed for the accommodation of new service connections.

Last set is from 9:30 p.m. on July 11 until 7 a.m. on July 12 or for nine hours and 30 minutes. Areas that will have no water include the entire Talomo, Ulas, Bangkal, Matina Aplaya, Matina Crossing, Matina, Langub, Bucana, Ecoland Phase 1 to 7, Downtown areas, Bo. Obrero, Agdao (Wilfredo Aquino, Gov. Vicente Duterte, Leon Garcia Sr., R. Castillo, Ubalde, Lapu-Lapu, San Antonio and Centro) and Pampanga; and some areas in Bago Aplaya (Gulf View Executive Homes, Versari Village, Castro Village and Sto. Niño Village); Matina Pangi (3K Compound, NSDS Village and from Matina Crossing to Pangi Barangay Hall) and Ma-a (from NCCC Mall to Metroville Subd.). In addition, the entire Sasa and some areas in Panacan (Icsama Sapaha, Panacan Relocation, San Juan Village, Landmark 1, DPWH Depot and Philippine Naval Forces) will experience low pressure to no water.

The last set of water cut is due to Davao Light and Power Company’s scheduled power interruption on said date needed for the conduct of Preventive Maintenance Servicing of the transformers supplying DCWD’s Talomo Sump 1.

The resulting water interruption will be longer than the duration of DLPC’s power interruption because the affected DCWD facility needs more time for pressure build-up and line delivery.

Simultaneously, the ECD crew will tap and loop the installed 4-inch diameter PVC pipeline to the existing 4-inch and 2-inch diameter PVC pipeline from the junction of Manga St. to junction Rambutan St. at Upper Doña Asuncion Village in Bo. Pampanga for the mainline improvement at said village. Increased water pressure in Pampanga will result from DCWD’s improvement works.

DCWD acting general manager Edwin V. Regalado asked for the understanding and cooperation of would-be affected customers. He also advises them to store enough water prior to the scheduled water interruption as water supply may be restored earlier if work goes smoothly or later if unforeseen problems arise.

The general public may visit DCWD website (www.davao-water.gov.ph) and official Facebook page ( www.facebook.com/davaowater) or call the Central Information Unit / Call Center through the 24-hour hotline 297DCWD (3293) and press “1” on their phone dial to listen to latest daily water updates. They may also call / text 0927-7988966, 0925-5113293 and 09084410653 for other updates, complaints, queries and matters pertaining to DCWD services.
