SkyZone opens at SM Lanang

LEADING cable provider SkyCable opened yesterday its second SkyZone in Davao City at the lower ground floor of SM Lanang Premier as part of its expansion plan this year.

In an interview, SkyCable chief operating officer (COO) Rodrigo Montinola said the second SkyZone will support the company’s aggressive push to further increase its presence in the city. The first was opened recently at the Gaisano Mall of Davao.

“We’ve been offering our leading digital cable and broadband services in Davao so the opening of this Skyzone here at SM is an opportunity for more visible presence in the market because you know it’s very important for the public to be aware of our services. We want our customers to know where we are,” he said.

The cable company is also unfazed with the growing competition in the market, maintaining the lead being the number 1 service provider for cable.

SkyCable has around 25,000 cable and 3,000 broadband subscribers in the city alone, which consistently posts around 20 percent increase annually.

Montinola said SkyCable provides the most number of HD channels numbering around 42 to date.

“We still want to make sure to meet what the customers need. That’s why, I mentioned earlier what’s important thing for us is to be able to provide HD channels because that’s what the customers are looking for so we want all HD channels made available,” he added.

Montinola said they are eyeing to open two or three SkyZone branches in Mindanao, possibly in the key cities like General Santos and Zamboanga City this year to make its presence more felt in the market.

“Our target really is the family,” he said, adding that SkyCable is doing all it can to provide quality home entertainment.

SkyZone is a business center, which caters to new applications, payments, and tryouts for the latest services, especially on the HD channels and highspeed broadband internet.
