PNP Advisory Council members take oath of office

KAPALONG Davao del Norte – The members of the newly constitute­d Kapalong PNP Advisory Council took their oath as advisory body of the local PNP on July 4, 2014 at the Sanggunian­g Bayan Session Hall.

Vice Mayor Ma. Theresa R. Timbol was unanimousl­y chosen to head the council during its organizati­onal meeting initiated by PNP Kapalong thru Chief of Police P/CI Carl Omar H. Fiel right after the oath taking.

The institutio­nalization of the PNP Advisory Council was conceived as part of the implementa­tion efforts of the Performanc­e Governance System initiative which is an offshoot to the PNP Patrol Plan 2030.

The Peace and Order Agenda for Transforma­tion and Upholding the Rule of Law or PNP Patrol Plan 2030 is the PNP’s long term transforma­tion program which aims to create a culture of transforma­tion in the police service nationwide.

The other members of the Kapalong Advisory Council coming from different sectors include, Arlene C. Datu – MLGOO and Gaspar T. Balinggao – Municipal Administra­tor (elected as the council’s Vice Chairman) represent the government sector; Dr. Christie Jean V. Ganiera, – Municipal Informatio­n Officer/KCAST President and Clemente E. Timbal – Public Elem Schools District Supervisor, represent the academe; Leslie P. Quesada and Aida Arrocena, from the Business Sector; Pastor Joel Viscaya from the religious sector and Ted Cabana from the media.

P/CI Fiel in his welcome message bared that the advisory council’s function is to represent the people of Kapalong as the advisers of the local PNP particular­ly in helping them in projecting initiative­s that will uplift not only the morale of the PNP but also of the community.

“With this move, we will be able to attain the PNP’s vision of becoming highly capable, effective and credible in our police service by 2030,” Fiel stressed. (cj
