- KRP

THE 26th season of the Milo-sponsored Best Center Small Basketeers of the Philippines twin tournament will kick off on July 26.

It will feature the Paserelle (12 years old and under) and 15-under categories.

Organizer and local tournament commissioner Michael Chad Buoffard, in an interview with Sun. Star Davao, said he expects eight to 10 teams in each category.

“There’s no definite venue yet for the competition but we are looking on at three venues. We’ll just give update once finalized,” Buoffard said.

Participating schools include Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU), Brokenshire College, Davao Christian High School, Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC), Holy Child School of Davao, Philippine Women’s College of Davao (PWC), Stella Maris Academy (Smad), Assumpta School of Tagum, St. Peter’s College of Toril, and Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School.

The competition will follow a three-game single round robin elimination format.

Organizers strictly implement the rule of not allowing players who aged 21 and above to play in the tournament. Also, only players who joined during the Milo summer clinic have the eligibility to play.

Winners of the Davaowide selection will get the chance to represent the city to the regional finals in Cagayan de Oro City. The regional champion will advance to the national finals in Cebu City.

Games will be scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays after the opening of the tournament.
