‘Good programmin­g’ as a strength

JUNE 16, 1997 marks the first airing of GMA Super Radyo DXGM Davao (1125 kHz Davao City) with the slogan “Kini ang Balita!” (This is the News, Ito Ang Balita). It is the local AM station of GMA Network, Inc., located along Shrine Hills, Matina in Davao City.

The main format of the station is news, with various programs centering on public affairs, public service, music, and drama.

In 2012, DXGM Super Radyo Davao was officially re-launched reinforcin­g its fearless commitment to deliver the news when it happens, as it happens.

The station also ventured into coming up with programs of social significan­ce with projects that cater to the general public making up Metro Davao and the region as a whole.

On the same year, DXGM Super Radyo Davao launched the “Super Radyo, Super sa Serbisyo Publiko,” one of its biggest projects to date that provided free medical assistance, legal services, as well as feeding programs for roughly 5,000 less fortunate residents of Davao City and Davao del Sur.

In 2013, DXGM Super Radyo Davao’s “Pagbangon at Pagsulong, Super Radyo ang Katulong Project” was launched which, until now, has been touching the lives of communitie­s everywhere. Guided by the station’s thrust on helping and supporting impoverish­ed families, needy children, including calamity victims, DXGM Super Radyo Davao implements the said project by providing aid and relief goods in far-flung areas in partnershi­p with other agencies.

In terms of ratings, DXGM Super Radyo Davao claimed airwave supremacy in Metro Davao with an audience share of 38.90% garnered during the 4th quarter of 2013 from November 8 to 14 based on the broadcast industry’s most trusted ratings service provider, Nielsen Media Research Radio Audience Measuremen­t.

For the period of March 1 to 7, a study conducted for the 1st quarter of 2014 reinforced DXGM Super Radyo Davao’s No. 1 ranking among AM stations in the area registerin­g a 45.80% audience share.
