GCash offers LGUs fast payment service

-

GCASH, the flagship mobile money service of G-Xchange, Inc., a whollyowned subsidiary of Globe Telecom, is boosting operations of local government units (LGUs) by paving the way for fast and secure payment services using the mobile phone.

GCash teamed up with the local governments of Quezon City, Valenzuela City and Batangas City under USAid’s Scaling Innovation through Mobile Money (SIMM) project to provide residents a platform to settle their payments of real property tax and business and construction permits.

“We are happy to help the government fulfill its duties to its residents by making GCash accessible to them. Using our mobile payment system, residents of Quezon City, Valenzuela City and Batangas City will no longer have to travel all the way to city hall and queue in line for hours to pay for their real property taxes as well as for their business and construction permits. With GCash, residents get a better, faster and more convenient option to settle their financial obligations. All they need to do is to simply register to GCash and pay using their mobile phones,” said G-Xchange, Inc. president Paolo Baltao.

Quezon City residents can use GCash to pay real property taxes, while those in Batangas City can pay their business permits using the mobile money service. Residents in Valenzuela City can settle their real property taxes and business and construction permit payments using GCash.

A GCash wallet can be funded through GCash outlets nationwide (available in Globe Stores, Puregold Supermarkets, Partner Rural Banks, Globe Load Distributors, and partner pawnshops like Villarica and Tambunting Pawnshops among others); Mobile banking through BPI Mobile Bank and Unionbank; GCash online via Megalink online cashin and ATM via Bancnet.
