Teener dies in shooting incident

A TEENER died while a driver was wounded in two separate shooting incidents in Davao City on Friday.

The first incident took place around 9:45 a.m. on Lizada Street in Barangay Monteverde in Agdao, where the victim was identified as Edward Bungabong, 18, a resident of Soliman in Agdao.

Initial investigat­ion conducted by PO3 Virgilio Arrubo of the Sta. Ana Police Station revealed that Edward was playing internet games at Jinky Store when an unidentifi­ed man suddenly shot the victim from behind.

The suspect then fled to an undetermin­ed direction, while the victim succumbed to two gunshot wounds in his head. The cadaver of the victim was brought to M’diang Funeral Homes.

Members of Scene of the Crime Operatives (Soco) recovered two fired cartridges and one deformed slug from the crime scene. The bullets recovered will be subjected to ballistic examinatio­n.

The second incident happened around 9:10 p.m. along R. Castillo Street in Agdao, where the victim was identified as James Lacsinto Navarro, 26, a driver and a purchaser of a corporatio­n, resident of Tibungco.

Initial investigat­ion conducted by PO3 Sevner Neri of the Sta. Ana Police Station revealed the victim was driving his red Kymco motorcycle traversing on the street when two unidentifi­ed men on board a Honda Wave motorcycle suddenly crossed ahead of him, prompting the victim to stop to avoid accident.

But the two suspects got irked that prompted one of them to pull a handgun and shot the victim on his right thigh.

The suspects then fled to Agdao Public Market direction, while the victim was brought to the Southern Philippine­s Medical Center (SPMC).

Police are now conducting the follow-up investigat­ion for the possible arrest of the suspects in killing the teenager and for trying to kill a driver.
