TWO men are facing charges before the Regional Trial Court (RTC) after they were tagged in a robbery hold-up in a house at Dakudao Compound in Mintal, Davao City on January 16.

Facing robbery with violence against intimidation of persons are Raffy Maray and Elmon Maing, both of Marilog.

Prosecutor Jose Garcia, in a resolution dated July 31, found probable cause to charge the two based on the complaint of Francis Locsin and the investigation of the Tugbok police.

Locsin cited in his affidavit that he was watching television at the living room when the suspects barged in the house, aimed an undetermined firearm at him and declared hold up. The suspects allegedly tied the victim up with nylon and gagged him with a sock in his mouth.

The suspects then ran- sacked the bedroom of the victim taking away assorted jewelry and gadgets worth P57,000.

Locsin managed to take the gag of his mouth and shouted for help. His caretaker Mario Robella then tried to rescue him but he was subdued and tied by two other suspects and took Robella’s two mobile phones.

The four suspects then fled to an unknown direction while the victims sought assistance from the Mintal police after breaking free.

Five days after the incident, investigators met with Locsin and showed him the rogue’s gallery where the victim was able to identify the suspects. The other two, however, are yet to be identified.

The case is pending at Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 11 as presiding judge Virginia Europa is yet to issue a warrant of arrest against the suspects.
