14 teams in Rotary bowling

A TOTAL of 14 teams are seeing action in the 28th Inter-Rotary Club Tenpin Bowling Tournament 2014 that will roll off today at the NCCC Mall Davao B3 Center.

Games will also be played on October 12, 19, and 26. This was bared by Davao Tenpin Bowlers Associatio­n (Datba) president Ian Neil Ancheta in an e-mailed statement sent to Sun.Star Davao yesterday.

“Each team will be composed of six members and will play two straight Sundays in the classifyin­g rounds. The top half teams after two Sunday’s games will proceed to the Governor’s Cup round for the championsh­ip while the bottom half after two Sunday’s games will be competing in the Presidents Cup,” Ancheta said.

The teams with the highest pinning total after the next two Sunday’s games will be declared as the champions in the Governor’s Cup and President’s Cup, respective­ly.

Ancheta added:”The champion team in the Governor’s Cup will automatica­lly be the host of next year’s tournament and at the same time will be representi­ng Davao City team against the Cebu region champion here in Davao City sometime next year.”

Ancheta said:”The top 20 bowlers with the top average in four games in the tournament will then play in the master’s event. The top bowler with the highest total pinfalls after two games will be declared as the Master’s champion.

The event is hosted by Rotary Club of Sta. Ana. Trophies await winners.

The Rotary Club of Sta. Ana will be vying for its third straight title in the Governor’s Cup while Ian Neil Ancheta is the threetime defending champion in the masters event.
