Carpio to handle power pilferage case vs man
THE case against the man arrested for installing illegal wiring for an electric meter at a house on Quirino ave. in Davao City will be tried before the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 16.
Based on the list of raffled cases from the RTC Office of the Clerk of Court, the case against Romeo Obusa Elisan Jr. will be handled by RTC Branch 16 Judge Emmanuel Carpio but the arraignment for the suspect has yet to be scheduled.
Elisan was charged for violation of the Republic Act 7832 or the Anti-Electricity and Electric Transmission Lines/Materials Pilferage Act of 1994 following his arrest in an entrapment operation led by Davao Light Power Company (DLPC) revenue protection department manager Zandro Chad Ramos.
In his complaint that he formed a team composed of Alberto Dabalos Jr., Melecio Baldonado Jr. and Sandy Madanguit, all from the DLPC revenue protection department after they received information that Elisan has made a deal with a certain Gilberto Piamonte of Quirino Avenue to install illegal wirings locally known as jumpers in exchange for the P10,000 service fee.
Ramos then coordinated with Piamonte while Madanguit prepared the P10,000 marked money. Dabalos and Baldonado, meanwhile, were tasked to monitor the activities of the suspect.
The t eam then saw Elisan tamper with the electric meter at the house of Piamonte. Baldonado and Dabalos took a video of the suspect while he was tinkering on the electric meter while Madanguit also saw the suspect install
jumpers.
Operatives of DLPC then arrested the suspect after he received the marked money. Elisan was then endorsed to PO3 Ramises Labajo and PO1 Darwin de Guzman of the Davao City Public Safety Company who recovered assorted tools from the possession of the suspect.
