Environmental reporting workshop on climate change

TAGUM CITY – A three-day seminar workshop on environment reporting for high school students was conducted here starting on Thursday, participated in by 67 students and teachers from various schools in Davao Region at the Big 8 Corporate Hotel.

Efren Elbanbuena, director of the Philippine Information Agency-Davao Region, said the event was the first newswriting workshop conducted in the region.

He said students were trained to write environmental issues, particularly local stories.

“We only require you to write more about issues on environmental concerns that affect your locality,” Elbanbuena told participants. Jose Mari Oquinena, director general of the PIA, took cognizance of the skills of the student to write. He urged the students to inspire people so that they will get involved in the effort to address climate change.
