Gun, drug case vs Dakudao scion raffled off Thursday

THE City Prosecutio­n Office has recommende­d the filing of charges against a member of a prominent family in Davao City arrested in a raid at his residence on Km. 6, Lanang for illegal possession of firearms and marijuana cultivatio­n last October 15.

Prosecutor Serafica Justiniani-Weis, in her resolution dated Octo- ber 17, found probable cause to charge 57-yearold businessma­n Santiago Jose Ebro Dakudao III for violation of the RA 9165 (RA) or the Comprehens­ive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and RA 10591 or the Comprehens­ive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

The charges against Dakudao was affirmed based

on the complaint filed by PO3 Virgilio Arrubio and the testimony of PO3 Lendro Tutor, PO2 Abokhair Gapalan and SPO1 Nerio Deguito, all of Sta. Ana police who conducted a raid at the Dakudao Compound.

The raid was covered by search warrants issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 11 Virginia Europa.

Police first searched the red Kia Sportage vehicle with plate number LGY401 and recovered one Springfiel­d caliber .40 pistol with serial number MG205869, four magazines, 64 pieces of caliber .40 ammos, one caliber .22 magazine with 10 ammos, a smoking pipe and a knife.

One STI Internatio­nal caliber 40 pistol with serial number TC2808, two silencers, a wooden pipe and around 100 assorted live ammos and empty shells stashed in ammo boxes were recovered from the respondent’s room while 18 marijuana trees planted in seven pots were seized along the pathway beside the respondent’s house.

Weis has then filed a motion for the issuance of a hold-departure order.

The case is currently with the Regional Trial Court Office of the Clerk of Court (RTC-OCC) and is set to be raffled off to court branch on Thursday.
