Igacos celebrates consumer welfare month

ISLAND Garden City Samal - The city government of Igacos joined the Department of Energy (DOE) in celebrating the 2014 Consumer Welfare Month (CWM) launched during the officials and employees Monday Convocation at Samal Multipurpose Gym, Brgy. Penaplata on October 13.

The DTI Davao del Norte led the opening of the CWM in behalf of the DOE, as the host of this year’s celebration with the theme “Sapat na Impormasyon: Susi sa Wastong Paggamit ng Enerhiya” in partnership with the local government and the Igacos Consumers Association (ICA).

In the program launching, DTI Davao Del Norte Acting Provincial Director Romeo Castañaga turned-over three price monitoring board and tarpaulins for the events to be mounted at the public markets in the three districts of the city.

“Atong gamiton ang price monitoring board or bantay presyo sa atong mga basic prime commodities kay dili lang kini monitoring para sa DTI kon dili alang usab kini sa Department of Agriculture ug panggamhanang lokal, ang kinahanglan lang nga adunay tawo nga regular mag-update sa mga presyo para basehan sa mga pumapalit nga katawhan ” (Let’s use our price monitoring board or price watch for our basic prime commodities, this is not only for DTI monitoring but also for the Department of Agriculture and the local government, what is needed is somebody to regularly update the price as reliable basis for our buying public),” Castañaga said.
