THE San Pedro Police had released on Saturday, June 20, the owner of an eatery that sold flavored shake who was temporarily held after his product had allegedly poisoned 16 students and a mother from Don Francisco S. Dizon Elementary School (DFSDES) last Friday.

The Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) of the San Pedro Police had released Robert John Arcales as there has still been no case filed against him.

In a text message, Davao City Police Office spokesperson Senior In-

CHO Environment Sanitation Division chief Robert L. Oconer said that the test results will be probably released next week.

Driz previously said that Arcales can be charged with violation of the Republic Act 10611 or The Food Safety Regulatory System in the Country to Protect Consumer Health, and Reckless Imprudence Resulting to Physical In- juries, once he is proven guilty.

It was reported that the school guidance counselor Virginia Beronilla said the students suffered stomach ache, nausea, and vomiting after they drank a bubble gum-flavored shake during lunch.

“Ang mga bata paginom wa kauyon sa lasa, ana pa lain lagi daw og lami mao to gipatilaw sa ilang klasmeyt mao to na tanang nakatilaw gipangdala sa ospital (The kids who bought the shake did not like the taste so they had their other classmates taste the shake too. Everyone who tasted the shake were brought to the hospital),” Beronilla said.

The 17 victims were brought to the Southern Philippines Medical Center and Davao Medical School Foundation Inc. for medication. KGL with reports from ICT
