MMFF 2015 OFFICIAL ENTRIES NAMED

KRIS Aquino, Ai-Ai delas Alas, Vice Ganda and Vic Sotto’s movies will take center stage in this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

The MMFF Executive Committee released this weekend the eight films which will grace theaters nationwide on December 25, Christmas Day.

Vice Ganda, star of last year’s top grosser “The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin,” will have his first big screen project with Coco Martin in “Beauty and the Bestie” directed by Wenn Deramas.

MMFF 2013 best actor Robin Padilla and Japanese adult video star Maria Ozawa will headline “Nilalang” (The Entity) under the helm of Pedring Lopez.

Aquino, meanwhile, will be working with ex-boyfriend, Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista in romance flick “Mr. & Mrs. Split,” directed by Antoinette Jadaone.

Four years after “Enteng Ng Ina Mo,” Sotto will reunite with delas Alas in “Rom-Comin Mo Ako,” directed by Jose Javier Reyes.

Other entries are Rayver Cruz and Jason Gainza’s “Death and Senses” directed by Randolph Longjas, Jun Lana’s “Haunted Mansion” starring Janella Salvador, Mario Mortel and Jerome Ponce, “Hermano Puli” top billed by Aljur Abrenica, Enzo Pineda and Alessanda de Rossi under the helm of Gil Portes and Dan Villegas’ “Walang Forever” starring JM de Guzman and Jennylyn Mercado.

Villegas is the director of last year’s romantic comedy hit “English Only, Please,” which gave Mercado her first acting award.

Metro Manila Developmen­t Authority Chairman Francis Tolentino, head of the MMFF Executive Committee, said this year’s line-up will cater to everyone, from young to adult, and to those who are into historical, drama and comedy movies. The MMFF committee also named two films, Erik Matti’s “Conman” and Jeffrey Jeturian’s “Lakambini” as reserve movies if one of the final eight entries would not meet the deadline and requiremen­ts of the board.
