Five nabbed in drug buy-busts
POLICE arrested five suspected drug pushers in two separate drug bust operations in Davao City on Thursday.
Buhangin police, led by station commander Chief Insp. Alredo Miguel in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)11, conducted a buy-bust operation at around 5:45 p.m. at Jade Valley Subdivision, Brgy. Tigatto in Buhangin that resulted to the arrest of four drug pushers.
The four arrested suspects were identified as Mohaliden Parang Magayawa, alias Bin Laden, 26, driver, a resident of Camamara, brgy. Waan; Alywin Kent Billena Arlan, 22, of Jade Valley Subdivision; Vic Kristoffer Billena Arlan, 25, of the same address; and Edmund Antonio
Ferrando, 39, registered nurse, and of the same address.
Seized from the suspects’ possession were sachets of assorted sizes of suspected shabu and marijuana, a weighing scale, aluminum foils used as improvised tooter, cellular phones believed to be used for their respective transactions and three pieces of lighter.
Magayawa was arrested after receiving the P500 buy-bust money from a police officer who acted as a buyer while the other three suspects were caught in the act while doing pot session.
The four suspects as well as the seized evidences were in the custody of the Buhangin police station.
Toril police also arrested a suspected drug pusher in another buybust incident that took place at around 2 p.m. at Lapu-Lapu St., Poblacion area in Toril.
Chief Insp. Hamlet Lerios identified the suspect as Carlito Guarde Coquilla, Jr., alias Kugang.
Seized from the suspect’s possession were sachets of suspected shabu and marijuana.
The suspect was arrested after he sold illegal drugs to a police asset who acted as poseur buyer.
All suspects will face charges for violating sections 5 and 11 of the Republic Act (RA) 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
