LCR records 5,282 marriage contracts from Jan to aug

The Davao City Local Civil Registrar’s office recorded a total of 5,282 marriage contract registrations from January to August 2015, an officer said

Juliet Q. Gasatan, Registration officer IV, said in an interview with Sun.Star Davao yesterday that their office has almost the same number as compared to last year’s 5,243 marriage contract registrations.

January had the highest record with a total of 1,100 marriage registrations with approximately 46 registrations per day followed by June with 720 and approximately 33 registrations per day.

Last year, January also had the highest number of marriage registrations with 986 while July had 794.

As for marriage license, 2,737 were registered for the first and second quarters of this year, and 810 for the months of July and August, with a total of 3,547.

Last year, 2,773 were registered for the first and second quarters and 766 for the months of July and August, with a total of 3,539.

Last year, 5,486 were recorded for the marriage license registrations and a total of 7,800 for the marriage contracts.

In January to August this year, 3,547 marriage licenses were recorded and a total of 5,282 marriage contracts.

Gasatan said that a marriage license is good for four months and can be used anywhere in the country. It expires after four months.
