-

A SUSPECTED drug pusher was killed after he attempted to shoot the policemen in Barangay 21-C in Davao City on Saturday evening.

Police identified the suspect as Roland Dajao Sala, 39, of the same place. He succumbed to gunshot wounds in different parts of his body.

Initial investigation conducted by the Sta. Ana police showed that the incident happened at around 9 p.m. when policemen had to serve a search warrant issued by the court on Sala.

Sta. Ana police head Chief Inspector Hamlet Lerios said authorities were supposed to search the house of Sala, a suspected drug pusher.

But Lerios said the suspect ran to the second floor of the house and took his firearm when he saw the police heading to his house, adding that Sala attempted to shoot it out with authorities.

Scene of the Crime Operatives (Soco) recovered from the possession of the suspect a homemade caliber .38 revolver without serial no. loaded with live ammunition. Recovered also from the house of the suspect were two misfired ammunition and one fired cartridge from Sala’s firearm, two elongated sachets of suspected shabu, two sachets with suspected shabu residue, and other drug paraphernalia.

The seized drug items are now in the custody of the Soco for laboratory examination, while the other evidence are in the custody of the Sta. Ana police pending proper disposition. The body of the suspect was brought to Angel Funeral Homes.
