Turning a hobby into a business

FIRST-time mother, 26-year-old Alyssa Jen Francinill­a Luayon understood how big a responsibi­lity she would face after giving birth to now three-year-old Victoria Elyze. Like any excited mom, Luayon wanted to be with her daughter during her growing years.

Blessed with having a mom who taught her how to bake when she was younger, Luayon made the realizatio­n of turning her hobby into business.

“I was thinking of a way to have an extra income and I thought, having a home-based food business would be a good one,” she said.

Although she came from a family who practiced a different field as both of her parents are engineers, Luayon who was clearly inexperien­ced at first in dwelling to business, tried her luck in selling banana crumble muffins online.

“I think I'm doing well as a mother and because I love seeing how my daughter is growing up. That is why I feel blessed din that I found a way to be a full-time

time mom and still earn a little,” she shared.

Her mass communicat­ion degree enabled her though to advertise her products well as more customers are driven to her Facebook Page, Lyzerts Confection­s, because of the wonderfull­y photograph­ed mini cakes and cupcakes.

Some of her products are sold in Habi at Kape, Abreeza Mall.
