Beauty, wits in Hiyas sa Kialeg 2016
THE celebration of 9th Kialegnon Festival of the Municipality of Magsaysay, Davao del Sur that started September 26 this year had just ended with a bang last Wednesday.
After the series of activities conducted for the festival, the Search for Hiyas sa Kialeg 2016, which was held at the Municipal Ground of Magsaysay’s Municipal Hall, had topped the yearly celebration.
Eleven candidates who represented their respective tribal barangays had all displayed excitement to epitomize their tribes and were all eager to vie for the most coveted Hiyas crown.
The B’laan, Bagobo and Igorot tribes, who are dominant indigenous group in the Municipality, also took part in the competition.
The official candidates are: Lexchelle Aying (B'laan-Brgy. San Miguel); Princess Mandiala (Bagobo-Brgy. Kanapolo); Judy Ann Sacedor (Bagogo-Brgy. New Opon); Famerisa Lamudin Linama (B'laan-Brgy. Bacungan); Sharwein Coronel Salutan (B'laan-Brgy. Glamang); Danrose Gonzales Asan (Bagobo-Brgy. Poblacion); Jiselle Obelidhon (B'laan-San Isidro); Janele Omo Attic (Bagobo-Brgy. Lower Bala); Lerma Angab Eyong (Bagobo-Brgy. Tacul); Keith Lazo Libradilla (IgorotBrgy. Tacul); and Danielle Ann Atil Saban (B'laan-Brgy. Tacul).
Last September 17, a photo shoot was held at the new municipal hall that became an instant attraction to visitors for its elegant and unique architectural designs.
A Talent Night for the 11 Hiyas candidates was also held last September 27 where they were able to showcase their skills and abilities. On Wednesday, the remarkable and mostanticipated night was held.
The crowds are all cheering for their respective candidates who all looked confidently beautiful. Outstanding candidates rejoiced over their triumph after a stiff competition and heart-pounding deliberations.
Crowned as Hiyas sa Kialeg 2016 is Lexchelle Aying from Brgy. San Miguel who was followed by 1st runner-up Sharwein Salutan of Barangay Glamang, 2nd runner-up Danrose Asan of Brgy. Poblacion and 3rd runner-up Ivie Tiana from Brgy. Maibo.
The crowned Hiyas sa Kialeg 2016 brought home a cash prize, trophy and other freebies while minor awards were also given to Lexchelle Aying of San Miguel for Best in Talent and Ms. Avon; and Judy Ann Sacedor of New Opon for the Most Photogenic award.
