-

THE Cabantian National High School (CNHS) cadets routed Davao Chong Hua High School (DCHHS), 5943, in the resumption of the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP)sanctioned Regino "Boy" Cua Memorial Cup 2016 yesterday at the Gold Star Gym in B.O. Obrero, Davao City.

The CNHS, who bowed to Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School (Dranhs) in their debut game, bounced back to enter the winning column with a 1-1 card while DCHHS dropped to 0-2.

Jaymar Magallono poured in 16 baskets and teammate Andrew Conde added 14.

CNHS head coach Marvin Sencio, in a phone interview with Sun.Star Davao, said the proper execution of his players played a big role to their victory as they were able to execute their game plan.

He also said that his players succumbed to fatigue in the final five minutes, losing grip of their double-digit lead.

"Nakabawi lang kami when I rotated the players and luckly again, nag step up ang mga bench players namin," Sencio said.

CNHS also leaned on the services of Kim Karim Montana, Francisco Garcia, Gino Grande, John Warren Gomez, Charles Kim Plaza, Ryan Jason Cortez, Julius Prieto, Migz Rojo, Gabriel Ferolino, Jose Enrique Pantoja, Justin Rivas, Rexter Gerbania and Jerick Nadim.

The cagefest will resume today at the same venue.ABM
