Represents Ph for Mrs. Hope Int’l 2016
Anative of Midsayap, North Cotabato is set to represent the county in an international competition this November.
Police Officer 2 Ruby Anzenie Rojas Zarondona will banner the Philippine flag for Mrs. Hope International 2016 in Africa.
It can be recalled that Ruby was supposed to compete for Mrs. Global United 2016 last July, but it did not push through.
"May changes na nangyari, so I was advised by Queen of the Beautiful Philippines na ako [ang] isasabak sa Mrs. Hope," says the police officer and beauty queen in a phone interview.
Queens of Our Beautiful Planet in which Mrs. Hope International is under, is a conventional beauty pageant that has categories like Teen, Miss, Mrs. and Mr.
The pageant focuses on both inner and outer beauty of the candidates and promotion of community spirit and social responsibility.
Zarondona is a licensed teacher, but after failing to secure an item as a public school teacher, she decided to apply at the Philippine National Police (PNP).
The police officer finished her college degree at the Southern Christian College in Midsayap, North Cotabato in 2008.
As of now, she is busy with some of her outreach programs among the different communities in Davao Oriental. These activities are one of the criteria for becoming a participant for the prestigious pageant.
"Kahit saan ako nakakarating Maam. May time na I tied up with different groups sa mga activities nila. Aside from yung outreach namin is part sa judging, ako gusto ko rin makatulong. So I made it a point na kahit konti, I can share."
Last month, the beauty queen shares some inputs about leadership to the children of Brgy. Tagboa Lupon. She also visited Mahayahay Elementary School and gave some clothes and other school materials to selected students.
The beauty queen policewoman who was born on January 26, 1988 is now three years married to PO1 Melvin Zarandona. They are blessed with two siblings.
Zarondona now serves as a focal person for Performance Governance System (PGS), a group that assesses the performance of every police station, in Lupon, Davao Oriental.
On the other hand, Zarondona is thankful with the support being extended to her by the Philippine National Police (PNP).
During the interview, she said that the PNP will shoulder some of her expenses for representing the country in the pageant.
“Nung last na punta ko sa Crame, nag-assure sila and nakausap ko rin si Director Dela Rosa [at sabi nila ay] tutulungan nila ako.”
Being a policewoman for five years now, Zarondona admits that it’s not easy to juggle her time being a public servant, mother and a wife.
