Comval guv gives first 100 days report
COMPOSTELA Valley Province--- ComVal Governor Jayvee Tyron L. Uy delivered his speech on his first 100 days in office on October 10, 2016 at the Capitol Lobby, Cabidianan, Nabunturan, Comval. The 100 days commemoration summarizes his accomplishments and his immediate plans for the development of the province.
His report focused on his accomplishment under Environmental, Economic, Social, and Administrative Governance for the first 100 days as a public servant.
Among the Environmental Governance are the continued Greening Program, Watershed Management and Protection Project, the creation of the Bayanihan Para sa Kalikasan, and the Disaster Preparedness.
“One of the major programs we have launched within the first 100 days is the Bayanihan para sa Kalikasan in partnership with the Association of Responsible Miners of Region 11, private sectors and other government agencies. This program addresses the needed efforts to mitigate the impact of climate change using bamboo as the flagship commodity for development and promotion,” Gov Uy said.
He also highlights the importance of economic governance where the people’s taxes are made tangible and visible through projects. With this, a total of 38 infrastructure projects were completed worth more than P44.7M from covered courts, school buildings, electrification, road concreting projects, among others.
The continuing development of the 97-hectare in Lamdag Panginabuhian Agro Eco-Tourism Complex in Pasian, Monkayo will also serve a model for the four programs through Integrated Farming, Research and Techno-Demo, Organic Farming, Agri-Tourism and Ecological Solid Waste Management Program.
Support to local farmers and cooperatives also continue by distributing 4,284 bags of Fertilizer to the flood-affected farmers under the Rice Sufficiency Program. The construction of the Pagro building and Warehouse with the help of the Department of Agriculture to ensure mobility and efficiency as well as by giving importance to the animal health care and disease management, Fishery Development Program, Cooperative Development Program and Tourism and Investments for Promoting Universal Accessibility taken as one of the primary instruments for regional development that stimulates economic activities of tourist growth.
Meanwhile, under the Social Governance he reported that as of September 26 the province is able to construct 1,660 houses and 519 are ongoing under the Modified Shelter Assistance program of the DSWD. He also pointed out the other programs on health and nutrition, availability of more hospital equipment, and the launching of the new program for nutrition called “Bayanihan para sa Kalusugan: Kusina ng Kalinga.”
