Davao young entreps in Asean Elite Forum
ORGANIZERS of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) Elite Forum – Philippines 2017 intend to bring Davao-based young entrepreneurs, business leaders and investors to the forum set on February 10 to 14, 2017 in Makati ShangriLa, Manila.
Andre Kwok Ka Ming, founding President of Nanyang Entrepreneur Foundation, the lead organization behind the forum said, they brought the international gab in the country as it will serve as the chair of the Asean next year when it celebrates the 50th anniversary of the 10-nation economic region and to attract more investors in the Philippines.
“We are expecting some 200 delegates from Asean and Asia-Pacific with well-established entities from over 19 countries. This is a good avenue where top young businesses and entrepreneurs meet and invest,” he said.
He said participants will be coming from the agribusiness, manufacturing and trading industries.
“We met with the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (DCCCII) to invite them and build partnership. We are positive that a delegation from the Davao Chamber will take part in the forum,” he said.
Participating countries
are from the 10 member states of Asean, China, India, Bangladesh, New Zealand, Australia, South Korea, Japan and Timor Leste.
The forum centers on a theme: “A Tale of Future - Opportunities and Challenges of Regional Trade under ASEAN + 6.”
The forum, Ming said, is organized with the curation of 14 young business leaders and innovators from 8 Asian countries. The forum takes a glimpse on the future synergy of trade and technology over the background of Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (ASEAN + 6) and Belt and Road of China.
In its website, the forum positions to match businesses and foster investment opportunities envisioning “a more comprehensive and connected market development in trade and technology industry in the region through the youth entrepreneurship.” ASP
