THE ROYAL Mandaya Hotel allocated some P5.5 million for the renovation of its Lantawan Hall that was formally launched yesterday.

Benjamen J. Banzon Jr., general manager of the homegrown hotel, led the launching of their biggest function room among all of the 11 function rooms of the hotel.

“The Lantawan Hall is expected to accommodate 100 to 1,000 guests. This is the first in Mindanao to have top-of-the-line upgraded sound systems and glimmering remotecontrolled chandeliers,” he said yesterday.

He added that the innovation is a reflection of the hotel’s bid to lead the tourism industry in the city.

The hall’s interior was designed by Architect James Hao who is also the president of the Philippine Institute for Interior Designers. The hall allows guests to have a breathtaking view of the Davao gulf.

Banzon said the renovation started last July 2016 and completed last August 8.

“We met our target of completing the development of the hall within 45 days,” he said.

He added that in spite of being one of the oldest hotels here, they are continously striving and improving facilities to be at par with the industry’s standards while maintaining its affordable rates.

Banzon also said that the hotel’s revenue increased this year compared to last year’s, thus, surpassing their 2016 budget.

He underscored that with the hotel’s upgraded function hall, brighter prospects on hotel occupancy awaits. ASP
