He added that the six barangays they have zoned as tourism development are Catigan, Eden, Bayabas and Tagurano in Toril District; and Baganihan and Salumay in Marilog District.

Al-ag underlined that only some portions of the barangays will be developed for tourism. He said that the Indigenous Peoples (IPs), particularly in Baganihan and Salumay, will also benefit from the business.

“We are looking at the industry na pag maglalagay ng negosyo it should be like resorts and hotels, among the others, so that a lot of people will have the chance to get employed,” Al-ag said.

Al-ag said that one of the priorities of City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio is

poverty alleviation, which he believes can be resolved through generating jobs.

The councilor, on the other hand, also disclosed that China is looking into having a direct flight from its key cities—Shanghai, Xiamen and Beijing—to Davao City as part of the tourism development.
