Liza speaks about joining MISS UNIVERSE
MANILA – Liza Soberano wasn’t jealous at all when her rumored boyfriend, Enrique Gil, attended an official Miss Universe event early this week.
Gil was one of the celebrities spotted at the Miss Universe national gift auction at the Conrad Manila hotel on Monday night.
Speaking to ABS-CBN News after she was launched as the new Avon ambassador, Soberano shared that she was supposed to be with Gil that night but she didn’t make it because of a prior work commitment.
“I was doing a shoot that time. I was invited as well pero due to my schedule, hindi ako nakapunta. I really wanted to go,” she said.
Asked how she finds Gil’s photo with Miss Universe Costa Rica, Soberano said: “He told me right away. ‘Hopie, may picture ako with Miss Costa Rica ha? Ipo-post ko.’ I said, ‘Okay I don’t mind. You don’t have to make paalam or anything. It doesn’t matter to me.’”
Soberano said she is glad Gil got to experience attending a Miss Universe event because “it’s something fun to witness.”
In fact, Gil enjoyed the event so much that he called Soberano to encourage her to join the pageant in the future.
“It was his first time ever. Siyempre Quen is a guy. He is not really into girly girl things. Natuwa siya and he called me. He said, ‘Why don’t you join?’ I was like, it’s not really my thing,” she said.
“It would be an honor to become Miss Philippines and join Miss Universe but I really don’t see myself in that path. It’s not for me. But natutuwa naman ako na people are telling me that I should join and stuff. Nakaka-touch din naman but it’s really not for me,” she added.
Valentine plans
Meanwhile, Soberano shared that she and Gil already have plans for Valentine’s Day.
“The premiere night [of our movie ‘My Ex and Whys’] is on February 14, Valentine’s Day.
That’s my Valentine’s date, not only with Quen but also with our supporters, with the cast and crew of 'My Ex and Whys,'” she said.
As for an actual date, Soberano said she and Gil are really busy for the whole month of February so she will just probably get him a gift.
According to Soberano, they are almost done with “My Ex and Whys” and cannot wait for their fans to see it on February 15.(Text by Shiela Reyes, ABSCBN News)
