BAGANGA NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL TURNS 69
The Baganga National High School’s 69th founding anniversary and grand alumni homecoming last February 11, 2017 held at the school’s covered court was a blast even when it rained cats and dogs.
The host batch led by president Catherine Aguilon and Vice President Lester Leo Gimeno were supported by active members of batch 1998. VP Finance of Phoenix Petroleum Philippines Chryss Alfonsus Damuy was the guest speaker.
The homecoming event included the table centerpiece contest, t-shirt design competition, the Alumni Got Talent and the much applauded Throwback picture contest.
Almost 30 batches attended from batch 1960-2013. This year’s theme was dubbed as BNHSians: Partners for change. The registration proceeds of the event will be used to purchase equipment for the BNHS community.
The One Night Stand Band rocked the delegates who enjoyed the party music by DJ King and DJ Ian and the performance of Star Power Runner up, Krissel Valdez. Fireworks and foam party made for a very impressive gathering of almost 30 batches of BNHS.
“We also attend high school reunions to reunite with our teachers, remind them that their teachings are valued until now, and to confess that we did some cheating in high school,” Aguilon said with a laugh.
The oldest batch came from 1954 and received a cash gift from the congresswoman.
The organizing batch of 1998 would like to thank their event partners: Cafe de Graham and Baybank (Baganga Rural Bank), BNHS Alumni Association headed by Lawyer Edilberto Macayra, the Province of Davao Oriental headed by Governor Nelson Dayanghirang, Cong. Corazon N. Malanyaon, Vice Governor Nino Sotero Uy and the local government unit of Baganga, Davao Oriental, Mayor Arturo Monday, VM Ramona Olea and SB Members. Batch 1992 will be hosting next year.
