SilkAir marks 20th year in Davao
SilkAir, the regional wing of Singapore Airlines (SIA), is celebrating a milestone as it enters its 20th year in Davao.
SilkAir first launched its flights from Davao on March 23 1997.
Over the years, SilkAir increased its flight frequencies from 3 flights per week, up to the current frequency of 10 flights per week. With SilkAir’s combined network with SIA to over 100 destinations worldwide via Singapore Changi Airport, this makes travel even more convenient for the Dabawenyo.
SilkAir Manager Mindanao Sherwin Lim joined other distinguished guests to officially launch the Davao 20 Year Anniversary Logo at the Davao Mega Travel Sale (DMTS) opening ceremony on Friday. The launch event, held at the Abreeza Mall Activity Center, also saw a cake-cutting ceremony accompanied by life-sized SilkAir Cabin Crew mascots.
“SilkAir is committed to serving the Davao market and is looking forward to allow more local travellers to experience our quality full-service product,” Lim said.
He added, “On behalf of the staff of SilkAir Davao, I would like to thank our long-standing partners and stakeholders who have played an indispensable role in helping us reach this milestone.”
SilkAir Davao also introduced the SilkAir Boarding Pass Privileges Programme (BPPP), which allows all SilkAir passengers to enjoy an array of discounts and benefits with its partners in Davao city.
Passengers simply have to produce a SilkAir or Singapore Airlines Boarding Pass with flights into Davao to be eligible for the privileges, which are valid within 30 days of the flight date.
Participating partners include Park Inn by Radisson Davao, Saging Repablik, Taters (Tagum), Eden Nature Park & Resort and Elysia Wellness Spa. PR
