OFW sued for posting sex video online
AN overseas Filipino worker (OFW) is facing charges before the court for allegedly posting a sex video online with his former lover who is also an OFW.
Charged for violation of the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009 and the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, is Tristan Clark Chua, a resident of Davao City.
In a three-page resolution, prosecutor Faizal Padate found probable cause to charge the accused based on the complaint filed by his ex-lover.
In a complaint affida- vit, the woman admitted that she and the accused met and became lovers in Dubai sometime in 2015.
Chua returned to the Philippines in July 2015 and they decided to end their relationship.
The accused allegedly threatened to post their sex video online and demanded P150,000 and a ticket to Caticlan from Davao City for him to delete the video. In fear, the complainant said she sent P190,850 to the accused.
The woman, however, found out that despite her having paid the man,
the video was still uploaded in YouTube. Not contended, the complainant alleged that Chua again contacted her and demanded 1,500 Arab Emirates Dirham. She again sent the amount demanded.
The complainant returned to the Philippines and filed a complaint. A subpoena was sent to Chua, but no counter-affidavit has been received.
