TRUE to its commitment to provide quality entertainment and grab the opportunity to get in touch with its regional viewers, the country’s leading network GMA brought in its biggest stars to join Dabawenyos in the celebration of the 80th Araw ng Dabaw last March 16-17.

Kapuso stars entertained Davao shoppers and fans in a series of mall shows that highlighted sale events staged by the city’s shopping malls.

Thousands of fans were delighted to watch their favorite GMA artists performing live with songs and dances.

On March 16, today’s favorite rising young artists – the love team of Derrick Monasterio and Bea Binene and Bianca Umali and Miguel Tanfelix – flew in to the city to lead the Kapuso show at Abreeza’s Activity Center.

Fans, mostly teenagers, eagerly waited for the four who promoted their soon to be aired fantaserye on GMA’s primetime bloc – the Mulawin vs Ravena.

While performing, the four made kilig moments that delighted their fans who filled up the show’s venue, showing interest to the much awaited television series.

Mulawin vs Ravena is a sequel of Mulawin, the most popular and successful fantasy series in the early 2000s. It started the fantaseryes on TV even before Encantadia. The fantaserye helped put GMA to where it is today –the country’s leading network.

On the same day, Kapuso leading men Dennis Trillo, Dion ignacio and Kiko Estrada also joined in the Araw celebration in another Kapuso Mall Show at Gaisano Mall of Toril. The so-called Kapuso hunks, of course, thrilled Dabawenyo fans with their good looks and song-and-dance performance.

The three are also in the lead cast of Mulawin vs Ravena. Dennis played an important role in the original Mulawin that made Richard Guttierez and Angel Locsin as GMA’s King and Queen of Primetime at that time.

Kiko, on the other hand, said his father Gary Estrada, who was also in the cast of Mulawin, will play a key role in the new famtaserye.

The following day, March 17, SM City Davao staged its own Kapuso Mall Show at The Annex Event Center, this time with the cast of original Filipino fantasy series Encantadia led by Glaiza de Castro, Ruru Madrid and Sanya Lopez.

The show drew thousands of shoppers and fans who were truly enchanted by the performers as they were treated to fun and games participated by the Kapuso artists.

Encantadia is GMA’s top rating show on primetime bloc.

“We look forward to joining this festival as we see it as an opportunity to get in touch with our regional viewers, bring our artists to meet and greet with fans. We cannot help but be overwhelmed by the warm reception we got,” said GMA Regional Tv head Oliver Amoroso.
