Allen Cecilio at SM City Davao Earth hour

BOYBANDPH grand finalist Allen Cecilio joins SM City Davao’s Earth Hour program on March 25 at the mall’s Open Parking.

This year’s Earth Hour, themed “Shine a Light on Climate Action”, aims to highlight actions and programs towards mitigating the effects of climate change.

The celebration leading to the switchoff will start at 4PM with the Light Painting Photography Exhibition. At 7:30PM, the Boy Scouts of the Philippines are expected to lead the sending-off of participants of the mall parade.

SM’s partners with the same advocacy on energy conservation are expected to join the event. While 50% of the mall lights will be switched off, guests and shoppers may still enjoy shopping and dining inside the mall. Participants of the Earth Hour program at the Open Parking will witness performances from Musikademy, Evolve Pole Fitness and Allen Cecilio.

SM City Davao has been observing the Earth Hour since 2008. Along with all SM malls nationwide, it has committed to not only observe the one-hour event but also join the movement. SM Lanang Premier recently received a Lunhaw Award for its green building. Likewise, SM Davao also received various awards and citations for its green initiatives including the WWF Best Environment-Friendly Practices in 2009, Lunhaw Award Green Building Award in 2014, and the Don Emilio Abello energy efficiency award which made the mall’s program an official entry to the Asean Energy Awards.
