Chinese fugitive arrested in city
A CHINESE national fugitive, who has a standing red notice issued by International Police (Interpol), was arrested on Friday by local authorities.
According to Davao City Police Office (DCPO) spokesperson Police Senior Insp. Ma. Teresita Gaspan, the Chinese who was identified as Fong Hao Ling with alias Fong Jou-Rong, 53, was nabbed around 5:30 p.m. on July 14 at Phoenix, Dacudao, Davao City by the operatives under Sta. Ana Police Station (PS) led by Station Commander Pci Hamlet Lerios in coordination with concerned agencies.
An Interpol issued a red notice against him which request Interpolmember countries to locate and provisionally arrest wanted personalities.
Based on the investigation, the Interpol-listed suspect has been living in Barrio Obrero, Davao City and has a standing Fugitive Wanted for Prosecution Order from Interpol for the crime of Contract Fraud with an imposable penalty and facing a lifetime imprisonment.
The Contract fraud refers to scams where the suspect presents a contract that contains information that is incorrect, deceitful, or meant to confuse the other party contrary to what has been agreed previosly by both party.
Gaspan added that Ling has long been in the blacklist of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) subject for deportation.
DCPO under the direct supervision of City director Police Senior Superintendent Alexander Tagum has already placed the subject person under restraint.
