Chinese fugitive arrested in city

A CHINESE national fugitive, who has a standing red notice issued by Internatio­nal Police (Interpol), was arrested on Friday by local authoritie­s.

According to Davao City Police Office (DCPO) spokespers­on Police Senior Insp. Ma. Teresita Gaspan, the Chinese who was identified as Fong Hao Ling with alias Fong Jou-Rong, 53, was nabbed around 5:30 p.m. on July 14 at Phoenix, Dacudao, Davao City by the operatives under Sta. Ana Police Station (PS) led by Station Commander Pci Hamlet Lerios in coordinati­on with concerned agencies.

An Interpol issued a red notice against him which request Interpolme­mber countries to locate and provisiona­lly arrest wanted personalit­ies.

Based on the investigat­ion, the Interpol-listed suspect has been living in Barrio Obrero, Davao City and has a standing Fugitive Wanted for Prosecutio­n Order from Interpol for the crime of Contract Fraud with an imposable penalty and facing a lifetime imprisonme­nt.

The Contract fraud refers to scams where the suspect presents a contract that contains informatio­n that is incorrect, deceitful, or meant to confuse the other party contrary to what has been agreed previosly by both party.

Gaspan added that Ling has long been in the blacklist of the Bureau of Immigratio­n (BI) subject for deportatio­n.

DCPO under the direct supervisio­n of City director Police Senior Superinten­dent Alexander Tagum has already placed the subject person under restraint.
