A TOTAL of 58 vehicles were impounded following the conduct of Joint Anti-Crime Operations dubbed as Oplan: Lambat Bitag Sasakyan on Friday targetting suspicious undocumented vehicles.

Davao City Police Office (DCPO) Spokesperson Police Senior Inspector Ma. Teresita Gaspan said that the joint surprise operation, which started at 2 p.m. and ended at 6:30 p.m. on July 14 in Tugbok and Calinan Districts, has resulted to the confiscation of several vehicles after the drivers failed to present the necessary documents.

Among the 58, there were 54 motorcycles, two "payong payong", one multicab, and one van. All impounded vehicles were temporarily placed at the DCPO parade ground.

The dragnet operation also led to the issuance of 303 Temporary Operator's Permit (TOPs) for drivers without license and violation of traffic laws.

The operation aims to clear the city from undocumented, carnapped and delinquent vehicles from operating around the city as well as to prevent and intercept the penetration of suspected vehicles that might pose threat in the city's safety.
