P60M CHO bldg to rise soon
A P60-million building, which will house the Davao City Health Office (CHO), will rise along A. Pichon Street soon.
CHO chief doctor Josephine Villafuerte said they are now waiting for the City Engineer's Office to finish the program of works before the construction starts.
"If we finish the program of works, pwede na siya ma-download," Villafuerte said.
She added that the building will have six floors.
"The sixth will be the roof deck," she said.
The new building will be constructed within the area of the current CHO. While the construction is ongoing, CHO will temporary hold office at CAP Auditorium.
Department of Health (DOH) assistant secretary doctor Abdullah Dumama bared during yesterday's weekly flag ceremony that the DOH will provide the funds for the building construction.
Aside from the CHO building, Dumama also said that DOH has also established 77 infrastructure projects with total funding of P178.35 million for the construction, repair or improvement of various health facilities within the city for the year 2016 to 2017.
These projects range from P250,000 to P10 million.
Urban health centers for Marilog, Baguio, Tugbok, Calinan, and Toril were funded with P10 million each under the Health Facility Enhancement Program.
