Agri-financing featured in Date 2017
DIFFERENT banks had been invited for the agrifinancing sessions to be done at the 19th Davao Agri-Trade Expo (Date) on September 21 to 23 at the SMX Convention Center, SM Lanang Premier.
“We’ve added agrifinancing on the second day. We’ve partnered with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Davao Region. They will sponsor the event in having agri-financing sessions. The banks that are interested to finance, example, broiler industry or layer, they would be in one room and we would be inviting those who are in this industry and those interested to go into this industry, to join us,” said Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (DCCCII) vice president for Industry engineer Wilfredo Teves said during the weekly press conference at Kapehan sa Dabaw, SM City Davao.
For this year, the goal is to bring together in one venue agricultural experts, both local and international, in order to be able to exchange essential ideas, practices, and updates on current agricultural standards. The 19th Date will support industries of livestock, poultry, aqua, and gamefowl.
Aside from the agrifinancing sessions that would be happening with different banks, other highlights for the expo includes agri-trade exhibit, free technical seminars, business matching. Teves said they are expecting foreign delegates to join especially those that would be interested on investing on specific agricultural technologies in the Philippines.
Among the partner organizations for this year Date includes the Davao Hog Farmers Association, The Mindanao Association of Dairy Industries Stakeholders, Davao Association of Veterinary Services Inc., The Mindanao Integrated Aquaculture Association, and The Davao United Gamefowl Breeders Association.
The DCCCII has also partnered with the city government, DTI Davao Region, and the Bureau
of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (Bfar) Davao Region.
“I think with that kind of partnership, we’re going to have a very successful event and we would like to invite, not only those who are currently in the industry, but those who are outside as well and those who are in other parts of the country to come and be part of this exciting affair. We know it’s going to bring a lot of development, not only for this part of the country but for the Philippines as well,” said DCCCII president Ronald Go. JPA
