FUN OVERLOAD AT MARQUELA

DRUMMING fun and excitement in the northern part of the city, Marquela, a commercial center successful­ly staged the quarterfin­als of its own version of Tawag ng Tanghalan last August 26 at Tigatto-Mandug road, Buhangin District (after Deca Homes Esperanza).

Aiming to develop skills of Dabawenyos and spread entertainm­ent in the center, the competitio­n showcased sing and dance showdown by talented contestant­s who underwent weekly preliminar­ies.

The Tawag ng Tanghalan sa Marquela had a singing competitio­n for kids and adult category, and a hip-hop dance competitio­n.

For the singing competitio­n – kids category, Juliana Loraine Empleo placed 2nd runner-up and Lovella Faelnar as 1st runner-up, while Clarince James Malinao was announced as the quarter winner.

For the singing competitio­n – adult category, Richell Capinda ended as 2nd runner up, Marlon Fuentes 1st runner up and Charles Ivan Jamison was declared as this quarter’s winner.

Meanwhile, for the Hip Hop Dance competitio­n, the Season Crew landed as champion with its winning moves captivatin­g the attention and nods of the judges, as well as the audience.

“All the winners will compete for the upcoming grand finals this December,” Northbank Holdings Corporatio­n Marketing Manager Chelo Lorise Quilaton said in an interview.

The next quarter finals is set in October this year.

The event, Quilaton said, has attracted people as far as Kidapawan City.

Marquela is part of the township of Ciudades and includes NCCC Choicemart, a pool, park, KTV, Lagoon and night life at Boxtown. It is owned by Northbank Holdings Corporatio­n.

Northbank Holdings originally holds renting space in Bankerohan and Marquela is its expansion. But this time, the blossoming 5.7-hectare commercial center is catering to a different class.

Visitors of Marquela will have a good time hanging out with family and friends through their bar, park and business stalls that offer different services. The company is also eyeing to put up a gasoline station, pharmacy, courier and a lot of small businesses that can cater to all residents in Tigatto and Mandug area.
