NABUNTURAN, Compostela Valley -- In celebration of the Civil Service Commission’s (CSC) 117th anniversary, the Provincial Government of Compostela Valley officially starts the month-long celebration on September 4, 2017 at the Capitol lobby, Nabunturan, ComVal.

“If you are a government employee, September is always one of the best months to think about. It is the month that reminds us that, indeed, life in government service is all worthwhile” said Lara Zaphire Kristy Bermejo, PG Department Head of Provincial Human Resource Management and Development Office of ComVal.

The CSC regulates the employment and working conditions of all civil servants as they promote the values of rendering public service. It also oversees hiring and promotions in the government. This year, as it bears the theme, "Tugon sa hamon ng Pagbabago: Malasakit ng lingkod bayan," it reminds both public officials and employees to manifest malasakit in public service.

“Our President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s marching order to the whole bureaucracy is to render prompt service, eliminating bureaucratic preemptive and graft and corruptions. The administration of change is evidently and absolutely doable if the essence of malasakit sa kapwa ay maisapuso sa lahat ng mga stakeholders or service providers,” said Director Vicente D. Luna of the CSC – ComVal Field Office.

The civil service system in the Philippines is formally established on September 19, 1900 under Public Law No. 5 (An Act for the Establishment and Maintenance of an Efficient and Honest Civil Service in the Philippine Island) by the Second Philippine Commission.

In line with the celebration is the groundbreaking ceremony of the proposed legislative building initiated by Cong. Maricar Zamora through the Provincial Government of ComVal led by Gov. Jayvee Tyron Uy and the issuance of check worth 2.3 million to build Early Childhood Care Develepment building in some municipalities in the province.
