Fans confused as fit, healthy Isabel collapses

SHE'S all for taking care of one's body, including the words "fit" and "healthy" in pretty much all of her Instagram posts of late. Today, she's a prime example of how terrifying aneurysm is.

Isabel Granada was rushed to a hospital Tuesday night (Manila time) in Doha, Qatar after collapsing during a fan meet and greet event.

According to husband, Arnel Cowley, she suffered a "brain hemorrhage which indicates aneurysm and in turn affected her heart." He added she's still in the ICU and has yet to wake up.

The shocking incident prompted worry from her friends and fans, not only for her condition, but also about how a relatively fit and healthy woman can just fall into a coma without warning.

Data from Makati Medical Center, in a report from the Manila Standard published early this year, claimed that only two percent of the country's total population has a chance of getting brain aneurysm, signalling how rare it is despite being scary. Once ruptured, however, patients with it has a 50% mortality rate.

Certain factors such as family history, cigarette abuse, having high blood pressure, and diabetes may increase one's risk of it.

It can be treated before it ruptures. That's why doctors recommend having oneself checked. Some of its symptoms include a sudden, severe headache, pain above and behind the eye, blurred vision, nausea and vomiting, and neck pain.
