Over 5-K security personnel for Undas

-

MORE than 5,691 security and safety personnel will be deployed in the city for the observation of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day next week, a deputy officer from the Public Safety and Security Command Center said yesterday.

PSSCC deputy officer, Retired Senior Superintendent Angel Sumagaysay, during the I-Speak media forum held at the City Accountant's Office conference room yesterday, said that these forces are only the initial numTHE ber since other security forces will be added depending on the level of situation.

"We cannot say that it is the final number because sometimes it also depends on the observation of the commander. Once the City Director observes that there's a need to add, we have reserved forces ready, we really need these reserved forces," he said.

Sumagaysay said that minimal deployment will be launched on October

30 but they will have full deployment on November 1, and 2.

These security personnel will cover 58 public and private cemeteries within the city.

"Wireless has the biggest deployment as to the details of the deployment plan, we have a copy of the deployment plan as well as the Davao City Police Office. But for the small cemeteries, for example in Tigatto, only small number of people buried there so there is minimal deployment in the area compared to Davao Memorial Park," he said.

He said they will assign more personnel to four corners of public cemeteries.

"We will have roving personnel, and foot patrollers. Aside from that it is augmented by the security units," he said.

Sumagaysay also said that since the private cemeteries in the city usually have one entrance and exit, they will make sure to place police desk in the area and will put up areas for security and safety component. KVC (For full story visit www. sunstar.com.ph/davao/)
