Guv: No shooting inside CPDRC

-

CEBU - No one will be shot inside the Cebu Provincial Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC) during Gov. Hilario Davide III’s watch.

Davide was reacting to the sign put up by CPDRC Assistant Jail Warden Audiste Miguel that says, “You are entered in a restricted area. Trespassers will be shot.”

“I have to talk to him on what is his basis in putting that signage. Maybe he (Miguel) just want to scare violators. Di ko mosugot nga naay pusilon (I will not allow any shooting to take place). As acting warden, he may have the reason why he did it,” the governor said.

Ten CPDRC jail guards recently received a onemonth preventive suspension because of complaints that they allegedly engaged in acts inimical to public interest.

Davide said that he will also review the CPDRC manual if shooting a violator of rules and regulations can be shot. “Even if that is included in the manual, I am against shooting any violator,” he said.
