10 fugitives nabbed in ops
THE Oplan Bulabog or joint anti-criminality and terrorism operation plan of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) on Friday led to the arrest of 10 wanted personalities with standing warrants of arrest while close to 2,000 individuals were requested to undergo bio-profiling.
DCPO spokesperson Police Senior Inspector Ma. Teresita Gaspan said that the security operation, which seeks to preempt possible criminal and terrorist lairs in the city, started at around 6 a.m. in identified areas with reported new and suspicious personalities and ended at 9 a.m..
The series of operations resulted to the profiling of 1,995 individual residents - 1,803 individuals with identification cards, 192 transient residents without ID and the arrest of 10 fugitives and wanted persons by virtue of warrants of arrest for various serious criminal cases.
Gaspan identified the suspects as Orlando Ceballos, Joselito Lobertenos, Jobert Abar, and Rode Manila for violation of PD 1602 on illegal gambling; Joseph Dosdos and Conception J. Pacifico for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act; Mary Joy T. Traya for qualified theft; Marjon P Lipalam for violation of RA 8484 or Access Devices Regulations Act of 1998; Jomar M Yamit for Violation of City Ordinance No. 0367-12 or Anti-Smoking Ordinance and Edwin Banabana for illegal discharge of firearms.
Authorities also issued five Temporary Operating Permit (TOP) and impounded five single motorcycles for various traffic violations.
The operation was composed of different law enforcement units composed of DCPO with TF Davao, Regional Public Safety Battalion (RPSB 11), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG 11), Regional Maritime Unit (RMU 11), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI 11), Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG 11), Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU 11), Aviation Security Unit (AVSEU 11) and Intelligence agencies simultaneously.
It was launched at Police Station PS 1 (Barangay Lapu-Lapu, Agdao), PS2 (Barangay 2-A, San Pedro), PS3 (Bugac, Maa), PS4 (Barangay Hizon, Lanang), PS5 (Purok San Pedro, Acacia, Buhangin), PS6 (Kabayan Relocation, Bunawan), PS8 (Sitio Sook, Rasay St., Toril), PS9 (Purok 20, Mintal), and PS10 (Purok 20, Delara St., Calinan).
