Rafi Reavis wants to do a ‘Jawo’

-

NO OTHER active player has won more championships than Raffi Reavis.

And he's not done yet. Now, 40-years old, the 6-8 center of the Magnolia Hotshots aspire to match if not surpass the record of basketball icon Robert Jaworski for most game played.

A hip injury sidelined Reavis in the off season but he's back to playing again, making his debut in the 2018 PBA Phillipine Cup last Sunday against NLEX to pursue his goal.

"I got injured because I'm stubborn sometimes, but it's not a serious stuff," Reavis told pba. ph. "I'm back and ready to play more games."

Reavis, winner of 10 championships, is the winningest among active players in the league in terms of titles won. He's keeping his fingers crossed that age and health issues would not stand in the way in his desire to play more games.

Reavis stand to become the oldest active player in the PBA with Asi Taulava, another 40-year old warrior, reportedly entertaining thoughts of retirement at the end of the season.

Reavis is confident management will give him the opportunity to continue his playing career, claiming he makes it a point to keep himself in tip-top condition.

"Look at me, I'm skinny. I'm always on a diet. I look out at what I eat," Reavis said.

"I still want to play more games. I want to do a Jawo."

Reavis, though, has a lot of catching up to do. Jaworski, who ended his playing career in 1997 at age 51, has played a total 958 games, third best in the all-time list.
